There was no post last month, but 'Show and tell' produced the results of a Log cabin variation demonstration, in the form of
Happy Chick blocks. These are so cute.
And a folded log cabin example.
Other projects in the 'Show and tell' included a lovely Alphabet quilt, made for a second granddaughter (all the subjects are different to those in the first quilt), and two nice bags.
There were also some examples from the Cathedral window demo in May.

Another finished project was this very smart bowl from the Fabric Bowl workshop in May. This was a very successful workshop, as all the bowls started at the workshop, have been finished.
There were WIP, all of them EPP projects (English paper piecing). This type of patchwork is very convenient if you are travelling.
The demonstration this month was for
Celtic bias applique. It uses bias binding to form knot-work designs. Those on offer to try were approximately 6 inches in diameter and used commercial 1/2 inch bias binding, folded in half to make it 1/4 inch wide, the size suited to these small designs. Several members had a go at this. It is a bit fiddly and requires some patience, but worth the effort particularly if you like hand sewing, although it can be stitched by machine if preferred.
We are taking a table at the Manor Park Midsummer Fayre on 28th July from 12 noon to 4 pm. We shall be promoting our group and, hopefully, raising some funds. As we sold most of our fundraising items at the 150th Anniversary celebrations for the Church, where we hold our meetings, we put out a request for some more items for sale. these are some of the results.
