March 2019 - Fiddle Quilts

This month we thought we would explore making Fiddle Quilts for people with dementia. These can be made for a specific person, using their interests and experiences as inspiration, or made containing bits and pieces to occupy restless fingers and attract their attention. This was an example made by a group member to demonstrate the process. Size approx 12 by 24 inches.

Another member brought along some samples of furnishing fabric she had been given. These fabrics add texture and pattern to these small quilts.

You will also find lots of images and ideas on the web.

We also had some of the QWAD workshop pieces in progress. They all seem to be coming along nicely.
