This month saw the second of our foundation piecing demonstrations. It covered circular designs using arcs. These can be pieced as a whole circle and inset into a background fabric to make a square block, or pieced in four sections with the background pieced to each section before joining to form a circular design in a square. With the examples demonstrated, a circle is appliqued to the centre of the block to finish. Double circles are also possible to piece using this method. These blocks are best stitched by machine and the larger they are the easier they are to join as circles.

And last but not least, a finished bag from our last half day workshop. This one was made up using 5 inch squares cut from a particular range of fabric. It is large enough to use as a weekend bag.
