Firstly, Heather M has started this lovely quilt, she has made 4 of 12 blocks so far. I look forward to seeing the finished quilt. It is the same block, but looks quite different depending on the colour and tone chosen for the different patches.
This little project is from Lesley E, it's very cheerful. The pattern is by Kjersti Smith called Rainbow and uses raw edge applique. Very appropriate for the current situation. The link is for a purchased pattern (£4.00).
Christine D has finished the Orphan block Linus quilt, with the blocks taken home from our March meeting.
Also by CD, two more Linus quilts, a scrap box postage stamp and a batik panel.
If you are interested in doing some community work from the comfort of your own home, Marcia T sent a screen shot of a Facebook page asking for face masks for hospitals and I also had an email from Oakshott fabrics with a request and free pattern download for face masks. This was written by a nurse, is shaped using darts (rather than pleated) and has a pocket for a HEPA filter. It took me about 40 minutes to make one. I would suggest that you get in touch with your local hospital to find out if they are interested before going into production. Another email I had recently was concerning scrubs and face masks through Empress Mills. The link is to the News page, where you can read more details. Again it is worth enquiring of your local hospital/healthcare services if they are interested.
Here is link to a pattern for Scrubs.
