November 2017 - Methods for finishing the edge of a quilt

Continuing on from last month, we were working on various Christmas decorations, with some lovely items for Show and Tell this month. We also had a talk with examples on methods for finishing the edge of a quilt.

Our Members seem to like making Christmas decorations, always approaching the process with enthusiasm. This year we were making Christmas trees, Stars and Lanterns, with lots of opportunity for embellishment.

Other decorations included some from past years and a folded circle that ends up a square..

Other projects being undertaken included wreaths, table runners and mats on a Christmas theme.

Items for Show and Tell included the progress on last years Sampler quilt, showing some lovely hand quilting. The maker said, that although using the QAYG technique to put it together was easier than doing it as one large quilt, she found it "a bit tedious after a while" and may not use the method again.
