October 2017 - Lantern and star Christmas decorations

Our September meeting is the AGM, where we discuss the activities we took part in over the year and what we propose to cover for the following year. 2016-17 was another good year, with our in-house workshops and meetings well attended.

October sees us back to sewing at meetings, particularly preparations for Christmas. We had three Christmas related projects to chose from, they will be carried over to next month, so no excuse not to finish one for Christmas. Click here for instructions.

Star hanging decoration

The third one is a Christmas tree hanging made from padded triangles. I forgot to take a picture, but hopefully someone will have a finished one to show next month. Members got stuck in to making them with enthusiasm. One lady finished her pyramid by the end of the evening, hopefully she has taken it home to add some sparkly bits for Show and Tell next month.

Not everyone took up the challenge, others were busy with other projects to finish.

We also discussed the possibility of holding two more workshops next year, as well as encouraging members to sign up for the one we are holding in November.
